Venus is a super hot (enough to melt lead) planet, heavily perfumed in carbon-dioxide and second from the sun. She has a retrograde rotation (the planet rotates opposite to the orbit). Venus orbits the sun, same as all our planets, counterclockwise when viewed from above the Sun's north pole. She has no known moons.

Rules: Taurus + Libra

Venus rules the signs of the Taurus and Libra. Taurus and Libra really do not care about how they make others feel, they are most concerned with material and physical comfort, rooted or materialized through a strong self-confidence and self-knowing. Venus rules with unapologetic curiosity and indulgence. She knows what she wants and what she deserves. With this Mean Girl attitude, Taurus and Libra are powerful manifestors in the realm of love and money. Venus provides a fully embodied feminine energy fueled from her own confidence and sensuality, not from an outside person or source. This is the essence of what all manifestation teachings boil down to. It is also why Mean Girls are defamed and villainized in our culture, but lets not digress too much on Venus’s time. She has other priorities.

Mythology

Venus is a free spirited, confident, luxe-bitch who truly does not care what you think. She is the hottest, she is the most luxe, she is a literal goddess and knows it. She fucks around on her husband, because Mars just has that fire that Venus lovesss. She does what she wants, when she wants and never even thinks of saying sorry. She has no official parents, as she rose from the sea foam that boiled up after Saturn cut off Uranus’ gonads and chucked them into the sea, which is at best, an iconic origin story. Other than our mother earth, she is the only female planet out here repping hard. She is the one to lean into if you want to live a life you desire and deserve, which is what I teach only and actually here at Dear Hortense.

Application
