The Moon orbits The Earth. It deeply impacts the physical energetics of earth by stabilizing axial tilt, driving tidal movement and triggering ecological and biological phenomena that occur during astrological cycles such as new and full moons, lunar and solar eclipses and more.

Rules: Cancer

It rules the sign of the Cancer and holds power over our emotions, instincts, habits and our inner world. It can also impact creativity, romance and love in terms of energetic healing.

Mythology

There are loads of moon goddesses. I encourage you to always begin with your own heritage and roots and read about the gods and goddesses within your own ancestry along with others that you are drawn to in order to discover your own intuitive understanding about the earth and its mythological power. The Greeks and Romans worshiped Selene and Luna, respectively, adopting a merged worship like many other Greco-Roman deities (ie. Aphrodite and Venus). My personal lineage includes the Irish goddess Áine (awn-ya), so I study this myth and apply relevant energetics to my craft when necessary.
